Great Sycamore

Featherpaw drew in a deep gasp, sending a shudder rippling across her flank. It felt like she hadn't breathed in moons, with that tsunami of words spilling out of her. Featherpaw listened as Echosong agreed with some of the ideas she had. "But the crystal probably has some kind of physical form to it...." she said.

"Yes, because thats how it appeared... you know... in the dream." Echosong scraped the ground with her paw. "I do think it is at the snakerocks. Thats the only place thats guarded by a poisonous bite in our territory." She flicked her ears and stood. "What do you think? That its at the snakerocks and that it will be something we can get our paws on?"

"Well, it must be somewhere there, but its probably somewhere we would never think of," she said. "Also, if we did find it, i don't think we should tell our Clanmates yet. It might freak them out, a prophesy that says the each Clan will find a crystal that has some unknown power or purpose, though i do think we should tell Rainstar," Featherpaw got to her paws, her thorn-sharp claws sinking into the hard roots of the ancient tree that spread across the sky above them.

Echosong nodded. "Yes, we should tell Rainstar right away. She will be able to tell us her thoughts on the matter. Should we head out now?" She quizzed Featherpaw with her brown eyes.

Featherpaw blinked, her black eyes shining with excitement. "Yea! Let's go now! The sooner, the better," She hopped down from the root, the brown leaves crunching under her paws as she landed. She turned back to her mentor. "Come on!" she yelled, dissapearing into the forest.

Walking towards the the great sycamore,she hung her head low. Smelling echosong's scent,she looked up. She shook her fur,then saw that featherpaw had already left. She sighed,"phoenixfire needs you." She blinked a tear away. "I'm going to find featherpaw." She then followed the scent. Trotting towards the owl tree.

Echosong blinked in confusion. Why did Phoenix need her? Staring after Hawk, she shrugged. Rising to her paws she trotted towards camp.

Feathersoul padded nearer to the Great Sycamore. It stood tall, its branches streaching over the forest like a guard, a leader. Phoenixstar... the Medicine Wolf thought, sorrow piercing her heart. Shaking it away, she investigated the gnarled roots of the tree, soon stumbling upon a neat find. A large root pushed itself out of the ground, arching and then digging back down into the earth again. Another root snaked its way around it, forming a half-moon shape as it curled around. Interesting, she thought, wondering if it would be a good place for the Leader's resting place. Hearing a squeak from behind her, she spotted a scrawny hare sniffing in the roots of the Sycamore, searching for a snack. Placing her paws down silently, Feathersoul approached the prey stealthy until she was so close she could hear it breathing. Bunching her muscles, she launched through the air, landing squarely on the hare's back. She quickly grabbed its neck between her jaws and jerked her head the opposite way, hearing a satisfying snap. She quickly scraped a few leaves and some earth over her catch, hiding it in case another stay coy showed up. She glanced around, sniffing the air in search of more prey.

Adder pads in. She smells prey, and a wolf. She gazes at the medicine wolf, cautious and curiously. A mouse scurries by her feet. She steps on it, killing it. "Hello," She say cautiously. "Here." She passes it to the wolf. She just wanted to see how the wolf would react. She was a Husky, afterall, and she pretty much looks like a wolf. Though, she was a little smaller than medium wolves, but bigger than small ones,

"I'm ok, just thinking about leadership", Firespell called back to Mosseypaw as she entered the clearing. She looked up at the great sycamore and smiled. It is truly great. The firey wolf's nose twitched at a familiar scent. Dog. Looking ahead, Firespell saw Feathersoul and the dog. She padded up to them. "Who are you?" she asked the dog, not unfriendly.

Adder stood up. She made no unfriendlyness in her body language. "I'm Adder." She looked at the size of the wolf. She wasn't mush smaller than the soon-to-be leader. "And who are you?"

"I'm Firespell, soon-to-be-leader of ThunderClan." Firespell's body language was quite calm but she wanted to find out what this dog was doing on ThunderClan territory. She pricked up her ears, wondering in the meanwhile whether Feathersoul had found a resting place for Phoenixstar. "May I ask what you're doing here", she inquired in a polite tone.

"I was lonely, and I," She paused, "I just wanted have a place to live." Her husky eyes sparkled. She was scared, she showed a little of it. But, she did not realize she was scared. She backed away a few steps.

The firey wolf stood her ground and thought. The last time she'd met a dog, it had not been pleasant but this dog seemed nervous. Firespell decided to use tact and spoke to the dog. "What is your name?"

(Too lazy to switch)

Adder looked at Firespell. "I'm Adder." She had not really encountered a wolf before. She looked at her paws.

"Then, Adder." The firey female drew herself up to her full height. "Can you tell me exactly why did you come here?" Before I go to the Moonstone, I need to find out, she thought and glanced at Feathersoul, wondering what she thought of Adder. Firespell was being very calm, not doing anything reckless because she was curious.

"I told you, I don't have a place to stay." Adder looked up, her ears flattened. "And, I don't have any friends." She looks away. I don't think she wants me here...

She saw that the dog was flattening her ears and smiled at her to put her at ease. "So ... do you want to live in the forest?" the firey fae asked curiously. Firespell knew how to deal with wolves of the other Clans but not so well with dogs. "Do you have any family?" the firey wolf said.

She looked up as her ears perked. "Yes." She yawned. She shook her head no. She did not have any family.

(meep, I was shopping)

Feathersoul watched as Adder, a huskey larger than the small fae, had drawn nearer and gave her a mouse. Then Firespell had arrived, and, standing over to the side, the Medicine Wolf had learned quite a good bit about about the Husky. No family...no home... she thought. She must be lonely. Approaching the dog, the black fae introduced herself. "Hi Adder. I'm Feathersoul, ThunderClan's Medicine Wolf."

Adder looked quite calm. "Hello." She had her tail tucked in to Firestar. Something dogs do when they are submissive.

"So you want to live in the forest, Adder." The firey female straightened up. "This area belongs to ThunderClan, the Clan which Feathersoul and I both belong." Firespell looked at the medicine wolf and then back at Adder. "Do you know about the Clans?" She felt sorry for the dog because she had no family and no friends.

"I know the four original clans. Thunderclan, Windclan, Riverclan, and Shadowclan." She looks down. "I know this because my father was an adventurer. But, on day he just never came back. My mother was dead then..." She paused. "I suppose you don't want to know about my past?"

"Oh, that's really sad," Feathersoul whined, folding her ears back in a sign of sadness. "I'm sorry." It must be sad not having any family. At least I grew up in a Clan.

Adder's head tilts. No-one ever actually cared about her. "Thanks." She smiled faintly.
