Marshes

First topic message reminder :

Wet and shadowy, not many wolves come here or find it even close to being comforting. Stunted trees grow everywhere and it seems to be dark most of the year. Snakes make their home here, and the occasional herd or other hoofed animal rarely wander through. ShadowClan makes its home here, and most are comfortable and know exactly where not to step. Others may not be so lucky.

ravenpup grinned and capered around for a moment then trotted back over to shadestar and lay her ear to his chest, listening to his breathing, her tail thumping to the beat of his heart she looked up "his heartbeat is slow, quickly we have to get him back to camp!" her eyes glittered wiwth slight fear before she trotted off and soon returned with a few dock leaves that she proceeded to chew up and apply to his wounds.

Lightningflash glared at Nightfeather then a dark smile touched her maw and her eyes even smiled darkly at the older warrior. "My pleasure." She said in a dark tone as she padded past the she-wolf, flicking her tail for Silentpup and Mistypup to follow. She glanced back at the two pups to make sure that they were following, her eyes clearly saying that if they wanted to keep their ears that they had better hurry up and follow her back to camp. Then Lightning swiftly padded off, just fast enough that it wasn't a walk but slow enough that both pups would easily be able to keep up. As she padded on, she said only one simple thing. "When we get back to camp and once i get another couple of wolves to help, you two MUST stay in camp. If I find you out of camp again today, tust me. Both of you will lose your tails and believe me, i can make it happen without anyone even knowing I did it." She said darkly, her head dropping low as if more in a stalking, dark, shadowy look. Her body was stream-lined, similar to how a Riverclan wolf seems to be in the water, or a Windclan wolf is when racing across open moorlands. But her slender, stream-lined body was from the agility and speed granted to her as a puppy, the strengths she would have when she was a warrior, which was now.

After saying those two sentences, Lightning said nothing more until they got back to camp, slowing down when the pups needed a slower pace then picking back up once they were fine again.

~To Shadowclan Camp~

Mistypup was sad that the warriors were mad at her, but she wasn't a wimp and wouldn't go crying about it. Unless it was bad. She also didn't like being ordered around by someone as old as her or younger. But she went to go find some comforty anyway. Luckily, she found a big patch and started to pick them. Then, when her jaws were full, she padded back to everyone and gave Ravenpup the herbs.

ravenpup took the herbs with a nod then continued treating shadestars wounds. a worried look in her midnightblue eyes, kindness and gentleness radiated from her, a rare shadowclan wolf that wasnt completly dark. she sighed and sat down her eyes half closed.

Soon after some had left his side, Shadestar began to rock back and forth, as if in a seizure. He was induced in a lucid-like dream. There was StarClan in front of him, the first time since he had received his nine lives. They had contacted him after that, of course, but he'd never been presented in front of them in such a way. The wolves told him that he had lost a life, now with 7 remaining. His thoughts went back to the first time he had lost a life as his form got brighter next to the other wolves of StarClan. He could not afford to to lose any more lives..... Never again.

The world disappeared and he felt his real body, the cold not still seeping through his fur. He could feel the ground beneath his body. Shadestar felt weak, something that he never liked. Not wanting to open his eyes, he laid there for a few minutes to regain his thoughts and figure out where he was. He recalled collapsing, but that was it. The confrontation with the bear was there faintly, but nothing else before. Faint memories. What was happening to him? Groggy, he opened his eyes and blinked furiously, confronted with the bright light of the sun. Despite the trees giving some protection, a few of the bright suns rays made it to his eyes. Once he regained his previous vision, he stood up unsteadily. He smelled a strong bear scent, but there was none around. A small pup was sitting beside him with her eyes half closed. Who was this wolf?

Confused, he looked around, noticing he was in a swamp. The scents of other pups and a female wolf were nearby, though now faint. He saw another female wolf, a dark gray one with orange eyes. His golden ones looked at her curiously. Taking a few wobbling steps away, he stopped for a moment. "Where am I?" he asked, to no one in particular.

ravenpup perked her ears and whined softly she knew that shadestar had lost a life, she sighed and walked over to shadestar saying calmly "come on shadestar, you have to get back to camp and rest up" she frowned a little and said "and ill give you a few poppy seeds to help you sleep you need to regain your strength" she attempted to nose him towards the camp

Shadestar looked in confusion at the adult female wolf who had responded to him. Marshes? He figured out the bear part soon enough, but who was Lightningflash? Before he was about to speak, he felt a small nose attempt to push him or steer him towards somewhere. He glared down at the little pup. "Camp? Who are you?" he asked.

"ShadowClan?" he asked. The name rang a bell somewhere in his brain. He felt a connection to the word, but he couldn't quiet place a paw on why exactly. He felt uncomfortable because he was not yet dry. They must be leading him to safety? Well, they knew who he was and was familiar with him. He didn't remember them though, which was curious. How could other wolves know him without him knowing them?

By now he just wanted somewhere to rest his head, to relax, and to think about things and decide what he was going to do next. "Okay.... take me to 'camp'." He decided finally with satisfaction, walking on wobbly paws towards the adult female wolf.

Ravenpup frowned and said "the bang to his head must have made him forget" she glanced up at shadestar and frowned. now she would NEVER become an apprentice. she sighed and continued on back to camp.

Lightningflash came back to where Shadestar and the others last were. Quickly the female spotted the thwo adults. She noticed the pup was still around but lightning ignored the little black furball. She paused to assess the situation, noticing that Shadestar was up and about and that Night and Raven were preparing to lead Shade back to camp. Her bright calculative eyes caught several details. There was a hint of confusion in the air and in the way the three wolves carried themselves. he then padded to nightfeather. "Judging by what I see, i do believe there has been a bit of a problem with Shadestar." She said softly into the she-wolfs ears. "Memory problems I assume judging by the hint of confusion I sense in this area." She added then removed her muzzle from near Nightfeather's ears and looked at Shadestar. "Hey Shadestar. Let's get you back to camp. Most likely everything will come clear to you soon. But first we mus have the medecine wolf take a look at you to make sure you are all right." She said, taking up a position next to the leader though her head was slightly behind where his was. Her eyes radiated a rare concern for the leader and in that moment, it was likely Nightfeather would see. Something about lightningflash was truly loyal and in this case, though she had trouble ith auhority and orders from Shadestar, she still respected the male wolf and ever since earning her warrior name a shor while ago, she woul try to make it clear to him that she was loyal to him, a thing most likely he would see in her eyes, even if no one else did.

Lightningflash cast a glance at Nightfeather, the meaning being fairly clear: You lead and answer his questions while I help to steady him if needed. She then nodded. "So shall we go?" She said, her tone light and friendly though the typical darkness was still there.

Nightfeather suppressed a growl as Lightningflash spoke. It was obvious Shadestar had memory problems, but the dark female didn't want to start up an argument with the other warrior. Besides, Lightningflash seemed genuinely concerned about the Clan leader, and the older warrior was grateful for the help, as she definitely wouldn't be able to support Shadestar as they returned. Instead, she allowed herself to be annoyed with Ravenpup instead, who apparently still hadn't learned anything as she continued to walk even when everyone else had stopped. Sighing, she looked at Lightningflash and simply nodded as she spoke again, and led the way back to the ShadowClan camp.

~Back to camp.

Lightningflash followed after nightfeather, staying close to Shadestar to help support him when it looked as if he would fall. It was a rare moment for the young female. Her fur lay flat, her tail was settled in a calm way, her ears pointed only mildly alert for the bear might come back, and her eyes hinted a gentleness and a rare kindness and oncern. However along with that kindness and concern came the ever-present darkness that every wolf in Shadowclan knew. But at this time, Lightning was concerned about her leader. He had given her her warrior name and she did not want him losing lives and forgetting his own pack so soon after that. But Lghtning thought little of that at the moment as she padded on after Nightfeather, supporting Shadestar.

-Back to Camp-

Oakpup padded into the marshes then sat down flicking his tail with a little bit of anxiety. the bi polar pup glanced around. he was now extremly anxious, shifting from paw to paw the yellow eyed pup glanced about slightly worriedly.

Shadowpup wandered to the marshes, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. "Ready?" He asked calmly seeing the worry in Oakpup's eyes. "What's wrong?" He asked. What could he possibly be worried about? It made him wonder, did Okapup hate him?

Silentpaw stomped threw the Marshes and spotted the two pups. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" He yelled. "YOU HAVE TO STAY IN CAMP." He snapped. Then he thought for a moment. He was going to try and scare the pups so they wouldn't stay. "Didn't you hear what happened to Shadestar here?" He said, his voice getting softer. "He and Nightfeather were attacking a bear... and then Shadestar got knocked out and caught Amnesia. Nightfeather killed the bear and they say... that the soul of the bear lurks around the Marshes and kills all young pups she sees, as she lost her cub... killing every wolf pup in revenge." He whispered, making up the end part and how the bear died.

Hearing silentpaw's words he entered the marsh and whispered quietly,"well,two mischievious pups left when i saw them." He then suddenly had an angry tone. "Then they shuld already been lost to the bear!" He then shook his head. What am i saying. How could i ever say such a thing. he then looked up at the two. And blinked away the tears and said,"sorry,i lost hold of myself....i,i,i don't knwo why i said that." He then sat down,and switched glances between the pups,and silentpaw.

Shadowpup looked at the bossy apprentice. "If we are in danger, then why are you here without a warrior Silentpaw?" He asked, a questioning gaze. He wasn't about to give in because this apprentice had errors in his reasoning. "And stop trying to sacre us with old tales. I believe in StarClan alone. Give me liberty to practice hunting or give me death Silentpaw." He challenged.

Looking at the apprentice and shadowpup,he sighed. "Hey shadowpup,just stop. Right now we will all be told off unless we got back. Silentpup here has no warrior. While you two sneaked off. So we are all in trouble. I am even happy with having a punishment. And if you wont take responsibility,then you are cowards!" He then looked at the three,his hair rising. But had no snarl on his face.

Oakpup rolled his eyes, mood changing again. "first of all bluepup you arent better than myself and shadowpup you are a pup as well so if you think its dangerous go back squealing to mother!" he then changed his yellow gaze to this apprentice that thought he was better than the rest of them and announced "and you silentpaw can go eat a mousetail! i wont respect you until you have earned my respect. respect is earnt not just given at the change of a promotion" the pup turned and walked further into the marshes. he didnt need anyone these days. sure shadowpup was cool and a friend but if shadowpup abandoned him the pup could easily survive on his own.

Growling under his breath he replied,"well if you have no family alive i believe your life is better." He then had a flashback to when he was with his mom. He saw her face,and then he saw her bloody body laying on the ground. He then blinked and shook his head. He then blinked back the tears. "I am sure at least you have some kind of family. I am pretty sure all of mine is dead." He then snarled. He wanted to rip the fur off oakpup.

Oakpup retorted "i have no family eather, mother died giving birth to me and my father was a loner!" his eyes glittered. he hated admitting that he wasnt full shadowclan. he had gotten his colours from his father. yellow eyes glittering he turned and growled at bluepup "we are all equal as pups! dont think that you are so superiour bluepup!"

Looking at him in surprised he replied,"well my father died drowning,and i don't thiink i am superior. Just be happy you know your father is alive. I would rather have a father who was a loner and still alive,then know that my whole family is dead. He felt a tear fall from his muzzle. He then shook the tears away and then snarled at him,"you never know how much you lose until you have lost it oakpup! My family was a loner family,there isn't much of a different."
