Burnt Sycamore

Twistedfoot padded over to the Burnt Sycamore, her amber eyes glancing around for any signs of Twolegs. Not seeing any, the wolf padded around the nearby forest, setting the leaf down and beginning to gather some cobwebs. Twistedfoot glanced around to see if her apprentice had arrived, before looking back towards a nearby pine tree. Twistedfoot used her twisted paw to place some more cobwebs nearby the leaf, and she thought of the other types of herbs they'd be able to find here. Poppy seeds, stinging nettle, tansy, potentially coltsfoot, and other herbs. Twistedfoot said in her thoughts.

Twistedfoot finished gathering what she thought was enough cobwebs, leaving them next to the leaf as she padded out in search of more herbs. She noticed some stinging nettle growing nearby, and quickly decided to come back for those later. Twistedfoot padded back over to her leaf, looking up as she heard Lightpaw. The medicine wolf's amber eyes glanced to Lightpaw's leaf, and she nodded in reply. "That should be enough poppy seeds; I think it will do." She said, before adding; "Have you gathered stinging nettle before?"

Twistedfoot glanced at Lightpaw, hearing the apprentice's response. The medicine wolf nodded, replying. "That's alright; I'll show you how to gather them. First off, though, you'd need to know what stinging nettle could be used for; it can be used instead of yarrow if a wolf has swallowed something poisonous, or can help with healing wounds. It also could be mixed with comfrey to heal broken bones." Twistedfoot said.

"However, as its name suggests, stinging nettle can sting, similiar to poison ivy. It's important to make sure that it doesn't really touch your paws, and to wash your pelt or paws afterwards if you do touch the stinging nettle." The dark gray wolf continued. Holding up her leaf, careful to remember where the nearby cobwebs were, Twistedfoot padded back over to the stinging nettle and wrapped the leaf around it using her paws, and managed to pull out most of the plant. Using her muzzle to try her best to fold up the leaf, Twistedfoot picked it up and set the leaf down nearby Lightpaw and the cobwebs. "That's how I gather nettle plants, though if you find a different way that works for you, that would be okay too. You don't have to gather nettle now, though; want to keep looking for herbs around here or go somewhere else?"

Twistedfoot watched as Lightpaw had spoken, her amber eyes looking to the stinging nettle as Lightpaw padded over to it, gathering some as she had and then walking back. "That was good; I noticed that you were careful, which its always safe to be when gathering nettle." Twistedfoot replied to her apprentice. "Want to continue searching for herbs here then? Perhaps we may be able to find some coltsfoot." Twistedfoot said, placing the cobwebs she'd gathered previously on a different leaf.

Twistedfoot heard Lightpaw ask about coltsfoot, and she looked around for the plant from where she was. A yellow flower in the distance caught her attention, and the medicine wolf looked back to her apprentice. "Coltsfoot appears a bit similar to a dandelion, with yellow or white flowers, and can be used to help wolves breathe better, such as pups who have a cough, or can help with sore or broken pawpads." Twistedfoot replied. "It grows best in Newleaf, however it still may be possible to find some, even in Greenleaf." She added. "I saw some coltsfoot over by those trees; we could gather some before deciding if we'd want to stay here or go somewhere else." Twistedfoot said next, flicking her tail in the coltsfoot's direction.

Lightpaw nodded at Twistedfoot's words, her ear twitching every now and then as a sign that she had heard. Blinking her lilac eyes, Light glanced from the coltsfoot toTwistedfoot.
"Is there a certain way we have to collect it? Like the stinging nettle?" Lightpaw asked, her lilac eyes gleaming with a curious light.

Twistedfoot looked back to Lightpaw as she heard her apprentice speak. "Hmm, gathering coltsfoot isn't too special; just be sure not to damage the leaves when gathering the plant." Twistedfoot said in response. She nodded to Lightpaw, padding over to the coltsfoot and waited for her apprentice to come over.

"Okay!" Lightpaw said eagerly as she padded over to the coltsfoot. Light gently put a paw on the coltsfoot for a moment asshe prepared to collect the herb, not yet knowing that Lunalight and Whitestorm were there. She was about to collect the coltsfoot when she heard the voice of Whitestorm, who was trying to scare Twistedfoot. Lightpaw jumped up and turned from the coltsfoot and towards the direction of where the voice came from, prepared to leap if it was a twoleg. Blinking slowly as she realized it was just Whitestorm, Lightpaw let out a soft sigh when she realized Luna was also there too.
No twolegs, just Whitestorm and Luna. Light repeated quietly in her head. She padded over to Luna and nosed her mother lightly.
"Hi Luna." Lightpaw said, her tail wagging slightly.

Twistedfoot nodded as she heard Lightpaw, and the dark gray wolf looked back to the coltsfoot, ready to begin gathering it. Hearing a bark, Twistedfoot jumped slightly, her pelt bristling as she let out a growl. The medicine wolf looked behind her, prepared to see a Twoleg; she blinked as she noticed it was only Whitestorm. "Oh, Whitestorm, it was you." Twistedfoot said, starting to calm down and her pelt flattened. "I thought you were a Twoleg for a moment." Twistedfoot added, twitching her ears. Though normally the medicine wolf would have been angry, she'd known Whitestorm since she'd been a pup, and didn't mind. Twistedfoot heard Lightpaw speaking to Lunalight; she supposed that the other warrior must have come as well. "Are you on that patrol Shadestar mentioned earlier?" Twistedfoot asked, her amber eyes looking back to Whitestorm; she recalled Shadestar mentioning a patrol before she and Lightpaw had left the camp clearing.
