Fangpaw training with Silverheart<3

Anybody is welcome in just try to keep pups out of it some

I will try to get the point rubric up but I'm on a tight schedule these days :/



Hunting Large Animals : 14 for hit, 8 for miss (14/60)

Hunting Medium-Sized Animals : 9 for hit, 5 for miss (9/60)

Hunting Small Animals : 4 for hit, 2 for miss (10/60)

Fishing : 4 for hit, 2 for miss (10/40)

Finding Prey : 4 for large, 8 for medium, 4 for small, 6 for fish (20/60)

Finding Herbs : 5 per successful find (0/60)

Scouting for Predators : 8 for successful scouting w/out injury, 5 for successful w/ minor injury, 2 for successful w/ major injury (16/60)

Offensive Fighting : 5 for Successful hit, 2 for unsuccessful hit. (15/60)

Defensive Fighting : 7 for Successful block, 3 for unsuccessful block. (28/60)

The wind billowed sending a chill down her spine as she waited for Fangpaw. Willows creaked and grass swayed she kneaded her paws against the earth. Her nostril filled with the scent of nearby prey. Muscles relaxed and ready to see how the first day of training was going to go. Lifting her muzzle into the air she smiled at the thought of actually being a mentor. But she wasn't to go head over heals and rush this whole thing at once. She will learn along side Fangpaw and pass on what Magmafeather had taught her. The rustle of prey hid in the underbrush in the skirts of the forest. Light poured onto her silvery gray and white making the warmth pour into her body. Grooming her pelt one last time before she would begin the training.

(No way am I using a table for this.)

Fangpaw scurried hurriedly towards Silverheart into the training hollow. He was excited to see what was in store with the training, including the excitement with being an apprentice as well. Since the day he opened his eyes, he had dreamed of being a warrior, and being what he was now was just one step closer. Entering, the apprentice saw Silverheart. "I'm ready!!" He exclaimed, still having a few characteristics up puphood.

She dipped her before giving him a stern flick off the tail "If you even plan on hunting today I say you should keep it down!" She said then rising to her paws and taking in the scenery. "We shall start the training once you are ready" then she clarified "You must master three skills before you can complete your apprentice training" her eyes glowing with the look of a rainy forest. "Which do you chose to start off with?" She said smoothly and beginning to stretch her legs.

Fangpaw lowered his head and sighed. "Sorry, Silverheart." he apologized with his regular volume. "I think I wanna learn how to hunt firsttt." On other days he would learn how to fight, but he felt bad for taking all that prey and never gave back. "So where and when can we learn that?" the apprentice asked hopefully.

She nodded at his apology softly and grinning as he answered. "Well can you tell me three to keep in mind while you are stalking the prey?" She said circling him while she watched a young chipmunk nibbling on a nut. She flickered her ears and grinned silently while she glanced at Fangpaw.

Fangpaw followed Silverheart's gaze down at the chipmunk. The memories of hunting as a pup flooded his mind, though he quickly glanced back at his mentor. "Stealth, agility and strength?" He replied hoping he was right. Though as soon as he answered, the apprentice dropped into a crouch, and started to stalk that chipmunk before awkwardly stepping onto a twig, causing it to snap and sending his prey bolting for the hills.

Hanging his head in shame, the apprentice made his way back to his mentor and sat down with a slouch. Clearly practice makes perfect in this situation.

"Stealth, watch your step time each move Agility, don't give your prey the chance to figure out your plan Strength, give it full force and knock it clean with a swipe" she then turned and slowly began padding uphill. Soon she stood at the top were the fresh high sun nearly blinded her. The slow rush of the river bubbled in the distance tempting her to go swim and fish. Then catching sight of a brown flicker of movement in the woods below. "Fangpaw, let me see how well you can do with this fawn..." she said gesturing him towards the herd of 5 deer.

The apprentice followed suite of his mentor, and his gaze flickered over to the herd of animals. Narrowing his eyes, Fangpaw placed all of Silverheart's words into action, as he silently prowled over closer, found the weakest link of the herd and locked his gaze onto it. Dropping into a crouch, the apprentice neared the fawn, and pounced, but he was still small, so not enough weight was placed in trying to tackle it. In the end, he was dangling by his sharp canines along the fawn's flank, hoping that Silverheart can run over and help him with this prey.

She locked her eyes on the flank of the fawn and darted forward moving gracefully. She brushed past the bushes before stretching her forepaws out and landing her weight on the fawn. It was laying dazed struggling gain balance and fight. But she was done it was up to Fangpaw now "Finish it off!" She whispered to him with a smirk.

Fangpaw sighed in relief as Silverheart had approached him and helped, by tackling the fawn. Unhooking her teeth from the flank, the apprentice ran over to the neck of the animal, and bit down with his canines; as hard as he can. Fangpaw couldn't tell when an animal was dead yet, so he looked at Silverheart for a comment on how he did.

She just nodded before padding to the fawn and placed a paw on its neck. The pulse was stopped and its glazed eyes were motionless. "Maybe try to keep a plan such as arrangement of moves like jump, land, swipe, and bite." She picking up the small fawn by the scruff. "Now by the time I get back I want to see at least two pieces of small prey." She said through a jawful of fur. Then padding to back to camp to drop off the prey.

Fangpaw looked at Silverheart, and sighed along with nodded. He deserved that criticism, though he still felt bad. Padding down the slope, the apprentice raised his muzzle into the air, and tried to scent out something small, easy to catch, birdbrained as well... A mouse. There was a mouse nearby, and Fangpaw immediately caught sight of it. Crouching low, the apprentice knew that this would be his chance to show his mentor what he was capable of.

Pounce. Fangpaw had the small mouse underneath his paws, and one small bite of its neck would send the mouse dead. And that was exactly what he did. Proud of himself, the apprentice then dug a small hole and buried it there until he had all the requirements that Silverheart had given him.

Watching from a near by Bush she nodded as he practiced his hunting. He seemed to be getting the hang of it. Her ears perked and her tail wagging she quietly snuck up on the apprentice and stood mouse lengths behind him. "You are getting better much better indeed!" She barked softly to him.

Fangpaw almost jumped out of his fur when he heard Silverheart's voice. Sad that he hadn't gotten the requirements needed, the apprentice forced a smile upon his features and chuckled sincerely. "Yeah, I guess I am." the apprentice admitted.

"Well I see you have one down why don't I give you a few more minutes!" She said trying to see if that would encourage him. Next she was prepared to practice a few fighting skills. But she just sat prmonptly and watched her apprentice continue the hunt.

Fangpaw's face lifted from shame to happiness within a few seconds. Nodding his head as if a thank you to his mentor, the apprentice once again raised his muzzle into the air, and sniffed. A vole was nearby. But unlike the mouse, it was further. Letting his nose take over his whole body, Fangpaw stopped midway and heard a rustle of leaves. There it was. His prey. Dropping low swiftly, the apprentice stalked for a while and just when it was close enough....

Pounce. A swift move made by the Riverclan male had the vole underneath his paws pretty quickly. Giving it the life-ending bite, Fangpaw brought it back to where his mouse was and put them together in a small pile with his victory.

Her eyes glittered as he came back to the pile successful. As he stacked the vole she nodded and padded from the bushes. "Well done, you are starting to pick up the pace!" She cheered smoothly her voice nearly silk. "Do you want to give fishing a try?" She pointing her muzzle towards the bubbling current of the river.

Fangpaw eyed the river as his mentor had mentioned it. It had not been long since they had completed the garbage thing that involved many of them, though might as well give it a try if he sees a fish. "Sure. Why not?" He asked himself with a shrug. It couldn't hurt right? Making his way down to the ravine, the apprentice waited for Silverheart to catch up.

Though while he was waiting, Fangpaw looked into the river to realize that there were actually fish once again, swimming every now and then up the stream.

She smirked remembering the first time she hunted it was very successful. Slipping down the ravine her paws churned up lose golden and red leaves. She hadn't noticed but it was quickly nearing leaf-bare and soon prey would be scarce and maybe even sicknesses. The thought of the smooth frosted blanket of snow that was to soon be covering this land would affect all clans. As soon as the river came into sight she smirked in relief as she watched the fish slither by quickly. It had seemed the river was doomed a few days ago but it had apparently worked. Now it shimmered its usual clear blue with a bubbling foam current.

The apprentice watched as his mentor made her way over to the riverbank. Catching fish seemed harder seeing as there were currents instead of wind, and fishes swim faster than a mouse running away. He would need to learn a tactic on how to fish properly, and all of that learning needed skill. Did he have the skill to hunt fish? Fangpaw should have, seeing as he was born and raised in Riverclan. With his thoughts now in the way, he had become distracted and stared into the river without a single word said.

She cleared her throat softly before gesturing towards the river with her paw. Dipping it in letting the water flow between her toes. Just then a small trout snakes towards her quickly. Raising her paw she darted a whisker length ahead of it wedging her claws into its flesh. Slicing its side she flopped it onto the ground giving it one last shake. "Now you try!" She smirked before sitting and curling her tail neatly over her paws.

Fangpaw came back to his senses and back onto earth as his mentor started position herself along the river, and watch the river flow past her paws. All was peaceful until a small trout came, and with a swift swipe of her paw, Silverheart had a fish in her grasp and killed it within seconds. Now that seemed easy.

So, trying to follow her steps, the apprentice positioned himself over the river, and dipped his paw into the icy cool waters. Another trout had appeared not too long after, and when it became about 10 centimetres away, Fangpaw swiped his paw not so swiftly and ended up losing balance and falling into the water. Luckily, he knew how to swim and got up, before jumping back onto shore. "Well that failed." He commented before shaking his fur out to rid the water droplets.

Chuckling slightly she just nodded softly "Its ok just give it another try!" She barked cheerfully trying to encourage him. The water glided with the current creating ripples and churning foam. Fish still slipped into view every once and while, but it was getting colder outside and fish were slowly beginning to travel. So hopefully they could successfully manage to catch a few fish to bring back.

Fangpaw nodded at his mentor before repeating the first few steps. Placing his paw carefully into the running water, the wolf saw a trout, then quickly swiped up his paw when he thought that it was close enough. Luckily, he had succeeded, but barely. Once he swiped up his paw, the fish wasn't deep within his nails, thus when he placed the fish on the ground, it slipped out of his grip and landed a few feet away.

Fangpaw got up and raced over, then finally slapped the fish and stepped on it before realizing it was dead. "Got it! Kinda." He exclaimed at the end when the prey was now losing its breath slowly.

She sniffed at it plazing a steady paw on it. "Good job" she breathed in relief. He was beginning to catch on quicker and he was learning. Nodding her head she then buried it under some loose dirt. Then looking around the river deciding he could practice swimming skills while they were here. "Would you mind learning how to swim properly?" She called out over her shoulder as she waded through the flowing ribbon of water.
