Shadowpaw training w/ Direstar

Greetings all wolves, pups may not intrude on this training unless they want a severe talking to. anyone else is free to join in and spice up our rp. this rp will probbaly roam all over sunclans new territory from the stunted forest to the swift river. the statistic idea belongs to magmafeather i do not own it. now Shadowpaw here are your stats are you ready to take the plunge?

Direstar padded up to the sandy slope and sat down, shifting his paws a little grumpily the red eyed leader stared at the sand on the ground. it would be good to train shadowpaw on these slopes, most wolves wouldnt be used to it and should be awkward on the territory. that would give sunclan the edge the leader decided. his thoughts turned to the river.. hmm they would need the exriver clan wolves to show them how to fish, perhaps stoatpaw. shaking his head the leader came back to the present and perked his ears listening for the sound of any apprentice pawsteps.

Shadowpaw followed behind him. Ready to train his paws off because he'd waited so long for this moment. "What are we learning today Direstar?" He asked calmly, he had hoped to be training with Oakpaw, since he seemed to be able to help Oakpaw contain his temper.

Direstar smiled faintly and said calmly "first i think we might try our paws at fishing, we have a river here so we might as well try and adapt to all of the bountiful territory we have" his blood red eyes glittered gently and he stood walkin off his tail flicking. standing over the river he stared down at the flashes of the fish scales. readiing his paw he scooped it through the water and flicked the fish up onto the bank. grabbing it by the tail he smacked its head against a rock killing it with the fource of his blow. twitching his ears he said "your turn"

Shadowpaw nodded, heading for the river. He watched, seeing the fish swim he hovered over the river. Making sure his shadow did noot show and scare the fish. He scooped on up and threw it against the stone. It died on impact. He'd been frustrated for a while. He let out a sigh.

Direstar nodded his ears perked with intrest "well done Shadowpaw you will become an excellent fisher i can tell" his eyes glittered "sunclan will become hardy and strong, our pads tough and no thorn be able to perice them, being able to fight on slopes will give us the upper paw in battle and we have the best of all the clans" flicking his ears he grinned "continue practising your fishing and then we will move onto fighting"

Shadowpaw gave a small smile. He watched over the fish for more. But when he went to hunt, at the last second his shadow shown itself and the prey got away. He let out a frustrated growl. He had a lot of things on his mind about things that had happened back at camp.

Twitching his ears direstar laid his tail across his apprentices shoulders "whats wrong Shadowpaw?" he tilted his head Blood red eyes glittering kindly. he could be a scary wolf but he was also a kind wolf to his clan. his black nose twitched inhalin the crisp mountain air.

Shadowpaw looked at his mentors. "It just feels the same here. Like Oakpaw and I aren't welcomed by all the clanmates. It makes me frustrated and just sends me into violent lashes. Oakpaw too. Oakpaw wasn't welcomed in Shadowclan because of anger issues. A ThunderClan pup came into camp, he attacked with anger. He killed a pup out of anger. that's why Isenpaw will not let him live it down."

Direstar flicked his ears and said calmly "i will talk to the clan about accepting each other but it will take some time for them all to settle down" he smiled and stood his blood red eyes glinting with an idea "why dont we practise fighting so you can get some of that anger out of your system, the first attacking move is to rush your opponent and slip under them turn onto your back and rake your claws through their belly" he paused "this will wound your opponent and a wounded scared opponent is half defeated"

Shadowpaw nodded, he agreed that getting the anger out of his system would be best before returning to camp. He watched, running at Direstar. He then realized how lucky he was to have a mentor who understood him and was leader. He understood how he felt.

His eyes glittered with a gentle kindness, he waited for shadowpaw to rush at him. he calmly let shadowpaw rake his claws through the leaders belly. the blood red eyed leader turned and leapt at his apprentice with a swift knock of his paw he slipped it under the apprentices paws and knocked him over, pushing his paw onto his apprentices shoulders the leader said "try to get out of this situation"

Shadowpaw observed the situation. He smiled and used his hind paws to push at his leaders belly to knock the air out of him. He then wiggled his way out. "What next?" He asked, he felt a lot better now.

Direstar smiled and said calmly "right pretend im a rogue and i want to kill the pups of the clan, what do you do?" his blood red eyes were alert and sharp. he stood tall and proud his ears perked tail high over the ground. watchin shadowpaw with alert eyes.

Shadowpaw looked at him. "I'd challenge you because your on SunClan territory. If you refused to leave, I'd fight you with the power of TigerClan, LionClan and LeopardClan!" He said with a smile.

"thats right now try to drive me off" direstar bristled his fur and snarled at shadowpaw. His eyes turned cold and dark, a different Direstar emerged. he flattened his ears and gave a short snap towards shadowpaw. fluffing up his fur he shook out himself and waited for shadowpaw to make his move.

Shadowpaw let his game face on, he snarled and lunged for Direstar's belly. Diving under and raking it with sheathed claws. He narrowed his eyes. He was ready to beat his leader in this lesson.

whirling around the leader leapt at his apprentice and lightly grabbed him by the scruff, shakin him for a bit the leader dropped him then backed up his ears pinned to his head he leapt for his apprentice again and shoved his head into the apprentices chest. the leader backed up and waited for his apprentice to make the next move. he bared his teeth in a vicious grin.

Shadowpaw shook it off. Smiling as he ran around Direstar inconsitantly. He was moving around because he was faster then the leader. Youth was his advantage here. He was meaning to make Direstar turn in several directions. A thing he'd taught himself when he fought Oakpaw that one time. It was to confuse him.

Direstar was too wily to fall for this trick but it was hard for him to judge where Shadowpaws attacks would come from, a quick glint of his eye and he raced out of the circle of shadowpaw. he gave a quick few leaps up a slope and stared down at shadowpaw from it. he had the advantage here and he knew it. he was enjoying mentoring shadowpaw.

Shadowpaw panted, but never gave up. the warrior blood was too evident for him to give in to anything. He observed, Direstar had the high ground. but he'd figure out an advantage of low ground soon enough. He took steps back and smiled. He waited for Direstar to attack. He was just out of jumps reach.

His eyes glittering with excitement the leader leapt down untill he was at shadowpaws side. with a light nip to shadowpaws side he bowled him over and lightly raked his claws through shadowpaws belly fur. Direstar grinned a little and said "well, have you gotten your anger out of your system yet apprentice of mine?" his fur ruffled in the ever constant mountain breeze.

Shadowpaw smiled and nodded. "Yea, I got it all out Direstar." He said, it felt like weights on his shoulders was lifted. He rammed into Direstar's side or the last move.

Direstar chuckled and flicked his tail. his eyes grew slightly interested as he said "well, we could go and hunt bats at the gorge or we could hunt in the stunted forest" his tail swished over the slightly snowy river bank and yawned waiting for shadowpaw to decided. he had after all done some excellent fighting skills. the blood coloured leader stretched his muscles a little and waited for the apprentice to reply.

Shadowpaw thought about which he was weakest in. The whole point of training was strengthening weaknesses. "How about the stunted forest." He said calmly. He wondered if Direstar would approve.

Direstar nodded and said "allright then, lets go" turning the warrior-leader bounded up a slope heading towards the stunted forest, his pads had already hardened and now he could bound across scree slopes with ease. loping over the land with a joyful expression he gave a howl of happiness. he loved the mountains, they felt like home to him. sliding down he stopped at the gorge and glanced back at shadowpaw. they would have to either use the two leg bridge further down or leap over the gorge. flicking his tail he wondered what shadowpaw woudl suggest.
