| Sophie's smiled disappeared at the sound of a growl. She flicked her ears at the direction of the dog. Wanting her to go away. She blinked her frigid blue eyes. | |

| Flip and Flick looked up from their banter, flattening their ears in unison. They were not fans of conflict and though they appeared formidable standing side-by-side, they tended to abscond. Flip raised her head, stepping forward a bit. "Hello there," she ventured, smiling. | |

| Tourmaline looked up, slowly padding into view of the other dogs. Seeing the border collie flick her ears, she let out a slight snarl. "I have as much right as you to be here." She said towards Sophie, before looking up at another dog. As this dog was smiling, she decided that the dog probably wouldn't be much harm; she didn't know about the similar looking dog (Flick), however. "Hi." Tourmaline replied to the dog (Flip), before looking back at Sophie. "I came here because I was done looking around the suburbs, so I wanted to come somewhere else." The tan dog replied, her voice a bit annoyed though not angry. | |

| Flick nudged Flip with his foot, but she shrugged him off by hitting his side with her tail. "How's it going?" she smiled, eager to tap into the fickle friendliness of the other dog. Flick relaxed his guard as well, letting his tail drop from a dominant curl to a neutral gravity. "There's no need to be on alert, we mean no harm. After all, what's a meal amongst strangerly friends?" | |

| Tourmaline snorted as she heard Sophie's response, looking over at the first of the similar dogs who spoke to her. "I'm okay, thanks." She replied, looking over at the male who spoke next. She nodded to the dog. "If you mean no harm, I suppose I wouldn't have to be on the alert." She looked at Sophie as the dog spoke, and gave a quick nod in the border collie's direction before looking back at the others to whom she was speaking. | |

| Raj pushed through the small groups of people, who were gathered in the night. He would smirk and wag his tail. Fools, all long legs are fools. Nothing but fools. Turning around h kicked down a can, revealing its smelly contents. He nosed around, ignoring the scowls he could hear from the fools as he called them. After nosing around for a few moments, the male finally found something sweet and good smelling. With a happy yip he pulled it out and ate it, in a few short famished gulps.
He began to walk away, the mess behind him. Raj turned to see a person picking up his mess and smirked, but the person appeared to be smirking as well. The large dog stopped, strange. Rarely did humans smile at picking up after dogs, especially this man. The malamute had known the man for a while always barking and taunting him, so this was strange indeed. A few minutes after watching the man, his stomach began to hurt fiercely, and his throat ached. His eyes darted over to the man, raising a brow as the man had simply stopped to watch as if waiting for something. Raj could sense the man's anticipation but for what? Soon after asking himself, he felt short of breath and sides heaved as he gasped for air. Air became harder and harder to obtain as his tongue seemed to fill his mouth. Drool dripped from his jaws, in a rather gross display.
Raj soon felt his mouth go dry but it was far from that. The male began shivering violently, as foam formed at the edges of his mouth, replacing the drool the slipped down his jaws just minutes ago. His paws no longer seemed to be connected to the earth as he stumbled away from the laughing man. A slimy trail of drool left behind as he went, laughter filling his ears. What was going on? As he passed the people again, some would shy away in disgust, just the look of his crazed eyes enough to make a few women scream. Others though, would come up to the dog, give him a sharp kick to the side or a butt from behind. He hadn't made himself the best reputation around people. A few of the long legs standing around taunted the weakened dog, as he panted wishing for breath more than anything else. With a last glance back, his eyes wide in a fear he had never felt before he struggled to get away.

| Nightingale walked up to find the mess and the laughing human, with a savage growl she lunged out of the night at the human. her strong capable jaws clamping onto their pale as moon wrist, crimson blood filling her mouth. a smile appeared on her jaws before she let the human run away. she turned and slunk off the smells of other dogs filling hernose. she walked into a white pair of dogs and backed up with a light icy growl on her face. she wasnt good with other animals. | |

| Flip by now was back on alert, but her slightly lowered stance revealed a hint of aggression. Too much had happened too quickly, and she was on edge. Flick stood by her, an equal growl playing at the corners of his mouth. Their tails raised into identical dominant curls after the sound of a snarl reverberated through the narrow alleyway. Flick's keen eyes were the first to spot the dark female against the gloom of the night and he stiffened his legs, feeling the hairs on his neck rising in a subconscious display. Flip relaxed by degrees, though the growl emitted by the other dog made her nervous. "Hello there," she called, hoping that it would at least speak first. "What brings you here?" Flick gave her a sidelong look, remaining in a dominance display. He wouldn't back down, though he did agree silently by lowering his tail to a horizontal set to be less inflammatory, if at least the other dog was no threat. | |

| She licked her chops free of human blood and backed up, the white blaze on her chest reflecting in the darkness. she said in her cold voice "i apoligise if i have you on alert... i was not growling at youbut at the man who killed my..." she paused what would she name the malamute... "associate". her large form was in a relaxed dominant pose. her voice was icy like a wall of ice twenty meters thick. | |

| Flip let her muscles relax, though her face creased sympathy and a bit of fear. "I am sorry to hear that someone you knew was killed.." She glanced at the way from which the female had come, swallowing against the lump in her throat. Being so near a place where something that bad had transpired was unsettling to her, like it or not. Flick came forward, his stance smoothly shifting into a more open one, "Well, you obviously don't seem to choked up about it, miss..?" He regarded the black dog, a quick up-and-down of his eyes betraying nothing of his thoughts. | |

| She said in a cold tone "i dont show my emotions for the world to bare, and i have taken my revenge on the human who set the trap for him". she flicked her whipcord tail and watched these two white dogs. she waited for their next words. establishing that one was maleand the other female. she was larger than them so she could take them though numbers usually beat size. | |

| Flick gave her a searching look before letting his mouth fall into its usual lazy smile--its set spoke of mischief and a quick mind. "It's a pity you're not as open with your emotions as you are with your temper," he gave a rueful sigh, turning baleful eyes to her, "Then the world would know true peace, I'm sure." Flip gave him an annoyed expression, her mouth a deep frown. "Really? Now, of all times?" | |

| Her eyebrow twitched and she said "emotions are bound to lead you down the wrong path, the brain is the onethat leads my way. My temper is nothing to speak of. it is pride. pride in myself that i will not join a pack of weaklings that have to be in a pack to be strong. pridein being able to take care ofmy self and needing noone else". her words were icy and solitary. her brown eyes watched the male white dog with a icy intensity. she was like fire with none of the heat. her mind calculated how fast she could run, she wasnt in a fighting mood today. she could probbaly get back to familiar ground and prepare herself if the two dogs decided to attack. satisfied with this she shifted her stance into a more relaxed one. | |

| Flick's eyelids were half-lidded by now, his usual smug expression fully back. As she talked, he tilted his head bit, keeping his smile loose. "I don't usually discuss personal philosophies concerning communal welfare and the promotion of self until at least the second date, sweetheart." He paired his words with a wink. "I don't I even know your name. Mine is Flick, and I trust you'll ever so graciously give me yours before this conversation embeds itself too deeply into your emotionless consciousness." As she finally relaxed her posture, Flick let the rest of his preparation melt away. If she decided to quick snap back to aggressiveness, he knew she'd realize just how quick he was on his feet. | |

| "Well, now that I've got your name, I won't have to, Nightingale." He let the name roll off his tongue, savoring it a bit. It was a calm name, and seemed almost at odds with the female's personality. He was sure there was more to her than just this icy exterior though, and surprised himself by resolving to break through to it. He maintained his air of apathy, settling onto his haunches. "Relax, swe-" he caught himself, to his own confusion, not wanting to evoke an angry response to her again. He played it off as part of his new plan, but filed it away for careful scrutiny later. "Relax. I don't bite." | |

| She snorted "that is a lie, you bite your food do you not?" her brown eyes watched him with curiosity. her tail stood like a rod upin the air. she recognized one of the side dogs as one she had insulted earlier. my day just gets better and better dosent it she though to herself sarcastically. she ducked her head to clean the last vestiges of dirt of her pelt. Despite living at a dump she was a very clean animal. | |

| "Only if it moves too much. Then it's down the hatch," he replied, accenting it with a light snap of his jaws. He let his tail wag, sensing that Nightingale was beginning to open up, even if it was only by telling him her name. He regarded her with neutral golden eyes, his smile gone now that she was looking away and he had no use of it. "So what's your story? I'm guessing you're not a house-dog. You're too independent for that, I'd imagine." | |

| She snorted and flicked her tapered ears back she replied "Ill spare you the story" her tone warning. she still had not sat down as most dogs would do once they had established that there was no threat. she continued to stand, ingnoring the pain in her joints. betraying no look of the pain she strolled over to where there was some grass and stood on that instead. her paws sunk into the comfortable grass and she turned her large head over towardthe smaller white dog. | |

| Flick let his eyes follow her, then minutely turned his head. "You know, I understand the allure of remaining standing, but seriously, sit down. You're gonna lock your joints one day and it's not going to be pretty watching your enormous height crash to the ground. It will be like watching a tree fall. Which begs the question of you actually making a sound when you hit the pavement," he mused, his head tilted in a pantomime of deep thought. | |

| "i am more comfortable standing think you" she went on to say "though your concern for my well being is touching". her sarcasam was evident. she was getting a bit sick of the conversation and her mind was drifting back home. she wrinkled her nose angrily. because of that dumb fluffy dog she couldnt go back to the dump for a while otherwise his pathetic pack dogs would think that she killed him. she grunted and decided, well she might as well get used to hanging around her. she sat down gingerly and twitched her tapered ears. she hated the feel of the grass on her behind. maybe she was just weird like that. | |

| Flick smiled as she sat down, "I've only ever been kind to you, even if it has been a short time coming." He considered her as Flip nudged his side, reminding him she was still there. He was a bit startled as he realized he had indeed forgotten about his twin. That was.. unheard of. He had never tuned out her constant presence, and it worried him--heck, scared him. He returned her nudge, though it was shaky. Flip narrowed her eyes, searching his but he gave her a dismissive glance with his eyes towards Nightingale. Flip nodded, but there was a faint, fiery glow to her eyes. She knew something was up. | |
