Fourtrees #4

Fourtrees is a group of four tall oak trees that the Clan wolves have held their Gatherings at since the early days of the Clans. Fourtrees is described as neutral territory, and is often used when wolves from different Clans want to meet outside a Gathering. There is a large rock in the middle of Fourtrees called the Great Rock.The Clan leaders use it to look down on the Clans and share their news during Gatherings

Shadestar listened closely to the RiverClan leader as she stepped up to make her announcements. Everyone seemed to be doing well, or at least that's how they were portraying their Clans. Even Shadestar admitted to himself early on that if ShadowClan wasn't doing well, he wouldn't want to tell that to the rest of the wolves, for they would definitely take advantage. These times were ones of constant tensions and battles for power and lands. They always will be. The RiverClan leader stepped back, and Shadestar still said nothing, letting the ThunderClan leader go next. He still needed to collect his thoughts, his mind was a jumbled mess although he didn't show it. Looking out at the crowd, he noticed many wolves getting a little closer at this gathering. He snorted and rolled his eyes, mumbling, "This is a gathering for announcements, not for speed dating."

Heatherpaw pressed back up against Swiftpaw thankfully, enjoying the feel of his soft fur against her. "You'd make a wonderful blanket, you know." She whispered teasingly into his ear before snuggling up to him a little more. Letting out a happy sigh, she closed her eyes and became lost in her thoughts, only to jump back with a startled look in her eyes as a different wolfs tail suddenly smothered her and her friend. "Swiftpaw are you in there?" she called worriedly through the barrier of fur, oblivious to the fact that it was only Snowflower.

Tallfeather tried to appear nonchalant when Skypaw mentioned his warrior name, but he couldn't help the warmth that burst inside him. "Didn't really seem important," He said, looking back at the she-wolf with a tiny grin curling his muzzle. His grin evaporated rather quickly, though, when Skypaw answered his question. "Things are really that bad, then?" He asked, somewhat tiredly.

Swiftpaw looked up at the high rock he had heard heatherpaw "I'm here." as he icy blue eyes glittered in the moon light.

"Oh, of course it wasn't something worth mentioning," the she-wolf said with an eye roll. At Tallfeather's question Skypaw shrugged, "They're not too bad but they're not great either." She nuzzled his cheek and gave his nose a lick, "don't worry about it," she smiled.

Magmafeather continued to head toward where he had seen Skyfeather and Tallfeather stalk off. He soon found them. They were talking and had not taken notice of him. Magmafeather remembered the gathering where they had been seen in love with each other, and he hoped that they were about to break up. Calmly, Magmafeather hid within a bush, waiting for the proper moment to intervene as Rainstar prepared for his speech.

Shadepaw continued to watch. His thought processes clearing up a bit. She's Riverclan. I'm WindClan. I'm a medicine wolf apprentice for crying out loud! No, snap out of it Shade, you can't. No, I won't. He thought, the hairs on his pelt standing up a bit. His eyes a bit colder, as if emotionless. with one last glance at the RiverClan fae, he stalked off towards Skydust. He had to stop his emotions from taking control of him before it was too late. He had to leave, but he couldn't leave right in the middle of a gathering. So he went to a place where she was out of his view.

As the wasn't much time left of the gathering Swiftpaw wondered when was the next time he was going to see heatherpaw. He was unsure what to say as he pressed he's muzzle into her side.

Shaking her sore limbs she noticed swiftpaw and heatherpaw together. She then was curious. She felt another gust of wind. Crisp to the touch. She then looked at bluepup and said "you cold,right now i can barely feel my paws." She then shook them again to try and regain feeling.

Rainstar smiled and stepped forawrd, as Shadestar did not. Her voice rang out in the clearing, smoothly and firmly. "Prey is running well in Thunderclan. No problems whatsoever." She smiled and continued, "There are new apprentices in Thunderclan as well. Nightpaw mentored by Phoenixfire, Swiftpaw mentored by Blackhawk, Lunapaw mentored by myself and finally Featherpaw who has taken the path of a medecine wolf and is training under Echosong. Other happy news, I have gladly made Phoenixfire the Thunderclan deptuy." That was all, Rainstar beamed with pride as she thought of her clan. She stepped back sitting, and looking at Shadestar.

Tallfeather tried to do as Skypaw said and pushed away his worries, giving her another feeble grin. As guilty as he felt about breaking the warrior code and seeing a wolf from another clan like this in a romantic light -- or, at least, however romantic they'd progressed this relationship so far -- Tallfeather couldn't deny the infectious happiness that seemed to fill him when he was around the Shadowclan she-wolf. So, instead of just turning out of their little clearing and melting back into the crowd of wolves gathered in Fourtrees as his mind was so blatantly telling him to do, Tallfeather settled down into a comfortable position and slapped the ground beside him with his tail, inviting Skypaw to do the same.

Noticing hawkpool say something he said "no actually,....when....when i was little something happened to me.....i don't know what but,now i cam't feel anything....." Shaking his head he said "but it's fine right?...yeah its fine,at least i won't be as weak." He then stared at the ground thinking of what would happen if he was in battle. (Bluepup)

Heatherpaw looker around as she felt something touching her side and smiled when she saw that it was Swiftpaw. She paused for a moment or two before she bent her head and gently touched her muzzle to his. At first she had been impatient for the gathering to start, but now she wished it could never end. She wondered when she would next see Swiftpaw once the gathering came to an end.

Skypaw gazed worriedly over her shoulder at the clearing before taking Tall's invitation. She plopped next to him on the ground and leaned up against him so that their furs blended together. Many thoughts of how wrong it was, how disloyal this was to her Clan, were running through the she-wolf's head but she forced them out. What was living when you couldn't be with someone who made you happy? With that thought in mind, Skypaw laid her head inn her eyes and smiled at Tallfeather.

Direpaw lifted his head and shot heatherpaw a disapproving glare. how dare she so obviously get so close to swiftpaw. if she was going to moon over him at least do it in private for starclans sake! she was weakening windclan by doing this. he gave a disparaging snort and turned his back on the as he saw it disloyal she. he buried his nose into moonpaws neck. he inhaled her sweet scent and felt a little better.

Ripplepup lifted her head still feeling a little bit dull. she sighed and then glanced at a thunderclan warrior (hawkpool) and walked over to her and the small pup beside her (bluepup) she flicked her tail, black paws hidden on the ground she whispered quietly "um can i snuggle in with you guys? im really cold!"

Phoenixfire flicked his ears irratibly when Tallfeather had moved away. he stood himself and stretched slightly all he wanted was to be back at the camp in his den. his fiery pelt looked silver under the light of the moon. his eyes narrowed up at shadestar. hurry up hurry up he thought angrily. he wanted to snuggle with rainstar! he gave a quiet snort.

Ravenpup frowned as shadepaw walked away, she trotted after him quietly, no other shadowclan wolves were here that she normaly would talk to. she was more of the quiet type not the talk talk talk type but it was still good to be in the presence of another who loved medicine and healing wolves. she sat beside shadepaw and said quietly "im sorry that i bored you"

"No, it wasn't you. It was something else Ravenpup." He said, he was trying to forget about it, but she brought it up again. His thoughts quaking. Forget the RiverClan fae, it can't happen. No, its not love, no, maybe a friend, it can't be love.

Ravenpup watched shadepaw with sad eyes, she slumped down on the ground and sighed, she murmured "i know what its like to love somewolf in another clan" she admitted quietly, her tail curled around one of her back legs. she licked one of her paws and sighed before sitting up one ear slumping down. her gaze directed at the ungainly thunderclan wolf Blackhawk.

"It's forbidden for me to love Ravenpup, even in WindClan. But another clan wolf? It's really forbidden. I'm so confused, what to do, but I can't stop thinking about her." He admitted, his eyes even sadder. He could confide in his friend. But she was the only one to know.

she nodded "i know as well, my paws are also set on the medicine wolf path" her eyes were sad "i have seen her with that snowpaw alot, i think that they are close" she leant against shadepaw "if you love her will it be enough to see her happy?" she questioned her friend? midnight blue eyes wise beyond their years. the golden streaks within them glittering slightly.

"I-I just don't even know Ravenpaw, what if she's not happy with him?" He asked. This conversation making it harder for him to forget. "Ravenpaw, Time is the greatest teacher, but unfortunately when it's pupils grow nearly to strong for death, time gives them to death willingly. For if one is too strong for death, they are too powerful for time, and will outwit time itself. Imagine her as time, and Snowpaw as the one whom has outwitted time. What if I am death itself. What if she doesn't want to be with Snowpaw. What if she wants to be with me? What would I do then?"
