Waterfall

Isenpaw padded through the dense forest on the high altitude mountains. Her nose following the faint scent of herbs and water. Her eyes spotted it, a waterfall. Many herbs scattered around. She went and tasted the crystal clear water. It tasted good. She was glad she'd have something to report to Direstar at Sunset. She went back to the meeting as the sun began to set.

Direstar padded up and planted his rear down near the waterfall. his blood red eyes glittered with amusement as he watched the sun slowly begin to rise over the edge of the world. he flicked his long red tail and gave a almost bored yawn. he couldnt wait to assess the apprentices.

She pads up to the waterfall and takes a cool refreshing drink. A mouse scurries by her feet and she swats it against a rock. It dies on impact. She sniffs the air for more prey.

Direstar watched from the bushes, well hidden his blood red eyes watched her with a keen accuracy. barely moving apart from breathing he turned and moved stealthily through the undergrowth. his red pelt blending in with the yellowed leaves on some of the bushes. the ethiopian wolf leader turned and began making his way toward the sandy hollow.

Shadowstorm stood next to Direstar in watch. She'd improved past training, not even having to think about her hunting crouch in the mountains. A smile on his face as his apprentice did well. He watched as Direstar went to look at the other apprentice.

Streakpaw smells a goose. It must be injured, they usually fly away somewhere in leaf-bare. She sniffs out its hiding place. She smiled. Its already half dead! She bites its neck. It dies swiftly with no suffering.

Shadowstorm smiled as Streakpaw caught another piece of prey. He was proud of his apprentice, and hoped that the fast movings of Streakpaw's development would lead to more apprentices for him to train in the future. He hid in the dense of the bushes. A proud gleam in his eye.

Streakpaw smelled the air.she smelled many scents, but there were too many so she couldn't tell where they were coming from. Maybe up in the tree I could see? She jumps in the tree. She saw hawks flying around. Thats not really prey, but thats all I smell. I guess that will do...

A hawks flies by the ground. She jumps on it and bites it. She kills it by snapping its neck. Is this enough? I suppose so. She looks around and carried the prey back to camp.

Isenfire broke down crying as soon as she reached the waterfall. What if Shadow didn't make it? What if something bad happened. What if StormClan killed hiim?

Streakfire ran in and instantly began hunting. She swatted a small vole to the ground and bit it's neck. She saw Isenfire. "What's wrong, Isenfire?" the female asked.

Isenfire's eyes darted over to see Streakfire. How perfect, the wolf would see her as this emotional mess. "Why'd you leave your pups?" She asked, really the mother should stay with her pups until they ate they're first meat. What if they were to get hungry while she was out? Tears ran down her face.

"I just needed to get out. They just ate, though." she said. "What's wrong?" She swished her tail back and forth. Isenfire needed to be comforted, and Streakfire would surely.

Isenfire shook her head, she could never share her feelings with anyone besides her mate Shadowstorm, and her best friend forever, Rainstar. Rainstar was gone and Shadowstorm was dying, she felt more alone then ever. What if she just died, went away to the water to see her love again.

Isenfire looked at her, she did not like to speak of those events. "I left because Fullpup died, he was my only friend, he was even a bit fancied in my opinion. Oakthorn, Oakpup at the time killed him when we went on an adventure to ShadowClan. I left as soon as I became an apprentice." She said with tears running down her face. She got up and ran back to camp.
-Camp-

Streakfire shook her head. "He died because he coughed up blood. NOT because Oakthorn killed him!" She screamed. Streakfire ran grumpily to the gorge, where Oakthorn was.

Cloverpaw trotted up the slope towards the Waterfall. The Apprentice heard it long before she sighted the large cascade. Feeling sad Cloverpaw came to a halt at the edge of a small ledge that pointed out of the rocks and sat down. She was saddened over the news that Isenfire, her mentor had just been killed. "Shadowstorm must feel awful!" She thought. "She was expecting his pups!" The Apprentice sighed and closed her eyes. Why so much death! She briefly wondered who her next mentor would be. But it felt too early to get another one so soon. Cloverpaw then opened her eyes and fixed her gaze at the large Waterfall, trying to clear her thoughts.

Ripplestone walked up to the waterfal and flicked her tail in greeting to cloverpaw. she said calmly "hey Cloverpaw, how are you feeling?" she tilted her head and smiled kindly. her bright blue eyes kind and caring for this young apprentice who had suffered so much.

Cloverpaw jumped at the sound of Ripplestone's voice. With the roar of the waterfall in her ears, she had not heard her walk up. "Hello Ripplestone." Cloverpaw said friendly like. "I'm alright, but I just miss Isenfire.The Apprentice liked the She-wolf who seemed very friendly.

Cloverpaw grinned as Pinepaw came up. "Hello Pinepaw." Cloverpaw barked to her brother. Quickly, the Apprentice tried to wipe the sadness off her face. Are you exploring with Ripplestone? She asked.

Ripplestone nodded and regarded cloverpaw before saying "would you like to come with us?". she said the offer in earnest, she wanted to be a great mentor like graystar had been to her. she flicked her tail and smiled her blue eyes glittering like stars. she loved helping other wolves

"Sure!" Cloverpaw barked. This sounded fun and was just thing she needed. "Isenfire showed me around the territory before." She boasted about her mentor. "And it was so much fun!" Something Grey flashed above her head. Robin! Cloverpaw leaped after it as it landed by the edge of the cliff.
