Waterfall

She walked along tracking Mosseybreeze, she wasnt exactly good at hiding her trail. she found mossey and snorted nipping at her "wake up brat! im a older warrior then you are so pay attention. you have broken ripplestars probation so i will inform her of this when she returns." her yellow eyes glared at the apprentice.

"I don't care I hate this clan and every one in it! No one listens at all! I never touched Direstar and you all say I did! If you hate me that much come on try to kill me! See what happens!" She didn't like sunclan. It was full of mutts she missed her thunderclan home

Snowpaw slowed to a trot. She then stopped at the river which the Waterfall started. She lapped up the crisp clean water. She the blinked and shook her pelt. She licked her wet muzzle,then sat down. Gazed at the high fall of water.

Rowanpaw followed Snowpaw towards the waterfall. His eyes grew wide as he stared up the rocky slope, the water tumultuously flowing downwards at breakneck speed. He stopped beside his friend at the edge of the water and craned his neck, lapping precariously at the ice cold river. Rowanpaw shivered and looked up, feeling the faint mist emitting from the waterfall as it coated his fur. "I've never been here before." He told Snowpaw in awe. "You ever been to the top?"

Snowpaw shook her head and chuckled. "No,and I'm guessing your going to try?" A grin crept up her muzzle. She flicked her ears.

For a moment, Rowanpaw considered Snowpaw's words. He'd never been the adventerous or daring type - that was always Fawnpaw. Rowanpaw had always just somehow ended up along for the ride. Right now, though, staring up at the massive natural structure, a spark of delight flared up in Rowanpaw. His usual anxiety was vanished to be replaced by curiosity. Flexing his paws, Rowanpaw nodded curtly. "Yep. You coming?"

Snowpaw shrugged. "Sure." She then shot by Rowanpaw. She was a good climber. She climbed up a tree which grew by the wall and flicked her tail and grinned. She climbed up the rest of the way from the notches in the rock. She then stood in the cliff. Taking in the breathtaking view.

Rowanpaw knew that climbing the rocky slope wasn't going to be a good idea. With its steep slipperyness and his clumsiness combined, the outcome could only be a bad one. Rowanpaw didn't let that deter him, though, and Snowpaw's enthusiasm encouraged him. Racing after his friend, Rowanpaw dug his paws into the gentle slope as it began to get more steep. He flashed Snowpaw a challenging grin as he shot back her to take the lead. The slope began to get more slippery and angled as they neared the edge of the waterfall, but Rowanpaw continued to push forward, managing to regain his footing each time he slipped.

Snowpaw shot Rowanpaw a smile. She was fast. Snow,then quickly climbed up to the top. She could feel the faint sprinkle of the waterfall. She quickly made her way to the top. She then glanced down at Rowanpaw. "Need some help?"

Rowanpaw grunted as Snowpaw pushed past him and reached the top of the falls. His breaths were coming labored from exhaustion, and he was beginning to pant with effort. Rowanpaw continued to climb, though, the spray from the nearby waterfall reinvorigating him and giving him new energy. He could barely hear Snowpaw's words through the roar of the falls, and he tilted his head in a questioning gesture, trying to ask her what it was that she'd said. Just as he was reaching the top, however, Rowanpaw's back legs slid out from under him. The SunClan apprentice let out a strangled cry and grabbed onto the slick surface of the top slope as he began to slide back downhill. He was hanging only by his front paws, his back legs churning helplessly at midair.

Snowpaw barely heard Rowanpaw's cry. She snorted and leapt down. Towards him. She turned in mid-air and sunk her claws in the rock. She slip to a stop by the apprentice. She gripped his by his scruff,and swung him back on the wall. "Hang on." She said through his fur. She quickly dragged him up. She felt her breathe start to grow fast. She was tired. She threw him on the top of the falls. She slowly crawled into the cliff. She felt hot,and was panting heavily.

An unfathomable horror had erupted inside of Rowanpaw as he lay dangling half-on half-off the side of the slippery slope. It seemed like his insides had caved in on themselves at the face of perilous danger, and Rowanpaw's newfound confidence vanished to be replaced by wracking terror. For a moment, he lay there, clinging to the wet rocks as if they were as precious as life - which, they were. Then, Snowpaw's firm jaws clamped down over his scrawny scruff and Rowanpaw was being dragged back onto precious, reliable land. Rowanpaw let out a disgruntled yelp as he landed on top of the rock, and stood there for several minutes, trying to catch his breath. A wild look was still sparked in his eyes as he flashed a glance at Snowpaw and uttered a breathless "Thanks."

Snowpaw gave him a curt nod. She then laid on her stomach and sighed. "Are you. Uhh,ok?"

Rowanpaw was still trying to catch his breath as Snowpaw spoke. His breaths came labored and quick, a sheen of sweat glistening atop the thin fur of his ears and muzzle. Rowanpaw's legs were tangled and twisted in a furry mess beneath him, but he didn't even bother trying to catch his footing. Pure terror was still coursing through his veins, all of his newfound confidence totally shattered, and Rowanpaw flinched as his eyes strayed over to the river a few lengths away. "Yeah," He finally answered, flashing Snowpaw a half-grin that didn't quite reach his eyes. "Yeah, I'm fine. Are you?"

Snowpaw breathed a sigh of relief. She stood up and shook her pelt. Her shaky legs slowed to a stop. "I think so." She flicked her ears. Then glanced at her rump. She shook her tail. Then turned again. "Yeah,I'm pretty sure." she blinked her brown eyes.

Rowanpaw nodded assent, some of his fright vanishing in relief that Snowpaw at least wasn't harmed. Slowly rising to his paws, Rowanpaw pushed away the sickening wave of dizziness and nausea that accompanied the sudden movement. He didn't wanna look like a weakling - well, not more of a weakling, anyway - in front of his peer. Shakily, the young male trotted to Snowpaw's side, the river roaring in his ears. He offered her an apologetic flick of his tail against her flank, struggling to control the shaking in his legs.

Snowpaw blinked. Acknowledging Rowan's tail. She then sighed. "Well then. What now?" She already noticed his shaky legs. But didn't comment on them.

Rowanpaw didn't immediately respond to her question, still washed by shame and uneasiness at his sudden breakdown. His eyes latched onto the frothing river and he considered Snowpaw's words. "I dunno." He finally stated helplessly, sitting down onto his haunches. The ground beneath him was slippery with slick, green linchen. "What should we do?"

Snowpaw shrugged. She turned and explored the top. She glanced around and noticed some berries. She blinked. Then flicked her tail. She glanced back at Rowanpaw. "Hey! How about hunting?"

Rowanpaw followed a few steps after Snowpaw, his nose twitching as he tried to distinguish any scents around the enormous wall of rushing water beneath their feet. At her suggestion, some of his anxiety melted away to be replaced by curiosity. "Okay," He agreed, tail flicking happily. It was hard to smell and track in the watery area, but Rowanpaw pressed his nose to the ground and inhaled deeply. He followed the fresh scents of nearby prey to a clump of bushes.

Snowpaw watched as the apprenitce when in tracking. She flicked her ears,thn crouched. She closed her eyes. Then shoved her ears forward. She took a deep breathe,then exhaled. She opened her eyes. Her brown eyes shap. She shot out,and leapt onto a squirrel on a tree. She took hold of its neck,and leapt off the tree. She panted slowly,then set down the prey. She n linked and sat down. She stared at it silently.

Rowanpaw continued to track the prey that he'd initially scented. His nose quivered as the scent grew stronger and stronger. Though the overall smell was faint and washed away by the slick rock surface and abundant vegetation, it increased in volume and intensity as Rowanpaw buried his muzzle into the scruffy undergrowth. Though he'd never been the best at hunting - his clumsiness and lack of self-confidence always got in the way - Rowanpaw had discovered he was cultivating a slight skill for tracking. His nose seemed to be sharper than average, and he was able to distinguish scents in even the most unlikely places. Rowanpaw's chest swelled with pride at the thought, a tiny grin quipping at the edge of his muzzle. Even if he wasn't the best at anything else - and that much was certain - at least he'd discovered one talent of use.

Rowanpaw's attention was diverted from his tracking as the shrill cry of an animal in pain reached his ears. Rowanpaw slowly extracted himself from the bush and thumped his tail against his flank in satisfaction as he observed the bloody squirrel clamped between Snowpaw's jaws. He resisted the urge to call out a praise to her, knowing that his loud words would alert whatever prey he'd tracked into the bush. Instead, Rowanpaw let a congratulatory grin curl his snout, inwardly vowing that he'd give her a proper congratulations later. Focusing his efforts back onto his own kill, Rowanpaw whirled around and once again ventured into the scrubby undergrowth, his mouth beginning to water and paws itch at the prospect of a kill. Even if Rowanpaw didn't have the most confidence in himself, he was a wolf like all else, and the bloodlust that was beginning to flow through his veins was only natural.

After a moment, a shrill yelp and scrabbling of paws registered to Rowanpaw's ears. The gangly apprentice let out a bark of delight as he realized his job well done. He'd startled a water-vole out of its shallow den. The fat little rodent went scurrying from beneath the bush, struggling to find purchase on the slick, craggy surface. Rowanpaw clumsily flung himself from the brush, his eyes fixated on the prey with a shining lust in his gaze as he imagined the warm body between his teeth. Rowanpaw instantly gave chase, tripping several times over his own long limbs but always managing to regain his footing. Finally, the lanky apprentice caught up with the vole and made his move. The vole let out one last shrill screech as Rowanpaw's jaws clamped over its furry pelt. A sickening crunch elicted through the air as Rowanpaw quickly dispatched the rodent and ended his life. He panted for breath, but his eyes glittered with pride as he dropped the vole and beheld in his kill.

Snowpaw felt the wind in her fur. And the bird calls in her ears. She felt eyes on her white pelt,so she glanced up. She took regard pf Rowanpaw's eyes. She flashed Rowanpaw a smile back. She then watched as he dashed away. Snow cringed at the shriek seconds later. If this keeps going,he'll scare the rest of the prey away. she sighed and flicked her ears.

Snowpaw flinched at more squeals. She shuffled her paws. Then gave her chest a couple of comforting licks. She flexed her claws,since she was bored. She took in the smell of the forest. And the sun on her pristine white coat. She thn blinked and stood up. seh rolldd her shoulders and streched her legs. her maw opened to let out a bred yawn. she then shot up at a shriek. Which slowly died away. Snow blinked and flicked her ears. Her eyes is tinkled in thought. I think he caught it. Snow took a deep breath. She kicked dust into her squirrel. Hoping to retrieve it later. She stood up and follow the scent of metallic blood.

She padded up to the scent of salty blood and Rowanpaw. She blinked at the small water-vole. She flicked her ears. Acknowledging his catch. She flicked her ears and sat down. She then though again. She whispered into the apprentices ears. Here,put you prey with mine. Its would be easier to bring back. She stood up and started padding back other squirrel. She glanced back once to make sure the brute was behind her. Snow stopped at a grove between to small trees. She sat down and flicked her tail at the pile of dirt.

Glowing with pride at his and Snowpaw's kill, Rowanpaw followed his friend to the small grove off the side of the river that fed into the waterfall. He dropped his catch on top of Snowpaw's before using his paws to scrape a mess of sod and moss over the valuable prey. The kill had boosted the confidence Rowanpaw was so desperately lacking, and he couldn't help the puppyish grin that twirled his muzzle as he sat lightly on his haunches. The apprentice looked at Snowpaw, wondering what would happen next.
